Conquest of the New World
What is Capitalism II?
Capitalism II is a business simulation game. You can create an industrial giant or become the neighborhood grocer. You can nurture your fledgling business into a enormous conglomerate, or mine your way to riches. Which ever path you choose you must meet your goals stated by the scenario.
Sometimes you start off with an advantage of some sort. You must exploit that advantage for all it's worth. Your competitors are sometimes smart or rather dumb. Some decide to build gigantic mansions and put them for sale at a fraction of the price of building them. Others, however, may attempt to monopolize a certain market. You can build farms, factories, retail stores, office buildings, homes, mines, oil fields, or even lumber yards. Also you have a private stock market account and a company stock market account. If you want to have a hostile takeover of a rival simply become the largest shareholder or have your company buy them out. Beware, controlling less than 51% of your company may cause YOUR company to be taken over. If my memory serves me right you can be the CEO of more than one company, but you can't manage them both at the same time. In all this game covers all of the things that you would encounter in the real world, minus a lot of the SUPER micromanaging stuff. If you have played Transport Tycoon or Industry Giant and loved them then Capitalism II will give you hours of fun.
